Hello [Recipient First Name],
This'll be a quick newsletter, to let you know about a wonderful opportunity!! (No, I don't get any affiliate benefits by telling you about this; I'm just blown away and spreading the joy!)
For 33 years Dan Smithwick, heading the Nehemiah Institute, has been one of the voices crying in the wilderness about the sad lack of biblical worldview in churches, in our times. (He was sounding the alarm about Christian Worldview before it was cool.) He developed the PEERS test, a comprehensive assessment for actual, deep, thorough biblical worldview. For all of these years, it has been offered in private Christian schools, church youth groups, and other Christian student organizations. I have personally wanted to take this test for over 20 years, but I was out of high school when I heard about it—I never got a chance.
But last night, I learned that the Nehemiah Institute is going to start offering the PEERS test online, for anyone to take! Starting January 1st, it will be fully live, and cost $15. I am planning to make it a part of homeschool for each of my children, at around age 15 or 16.
But right now...!!!!!! This is why I'm writing to tell you about it...! (I'm so excited!!!)
Right now, the Nehemiah Institute is offering the PEERS test for free, through the end of the year! It's in Beta testing, and anyone and everyone can take the Best Christian Worldview Assessment (my analysis) for free, now through December 31st.
I took it this morning, and it is excellent. It is comprehensive; it is well-written; it is clear and easy to understand. It is seventy questions, covering Christian Worldview with regard to basic theology, morality, politics and government, education, and economics. I cannot recommend it highly enough!
Smithwick said, in the interview I heard, that the purpose of offering the PEERS Worldview Assessment online was to open it up to adults, and I recommend every Christian homeschooling parent take it!! But I also couldn't help but think that, when my children become young adults, that I want them to take it, too. In other words, putting it online has made it available to homeschoolers.
As far as I am concerned, my children don't need to take the SAT or ACT as the standard test when they're finishing up high school; they need to take the PEERS test. If there's only one test I want them to take before graduation, this is it.
After you're done taking the PEERS test, if there are any areas where your Christian Worldview could use a little... ahem... fortification... there is further information about those topics, so you can go directly to the information you need for shoring up your foundations.
So that's the news for today! The Nehemiah Institute's PEERS test is free right now!!! Take advantage! :)
