Hello [Recipient First Name],
I hope all of our American friends celebrated a blessed day of giving thanks unto our Lord and God for His wonderful blessings, this day!
For over ten years, in the midst of having lots and lots of little children, our Thanksgiving dinner might not happen until 8:00 at night, or on Friday, or on Saturday! If your oven broke, or your children caused a disaster, or you were so busy with life that the day crept up on you, I hope you might be encouraged a little to know that I've been there!! Even if we had to bump our time of thanking God for His goodness to another day, and seriously simplify our "feast", we fought to make giving thanks to God the priority of our weekend—and by God's grace (and the help of the four days set aside for this holiday...), we always managed to at least give Him that extra special thanks and honor.
(In other words, if that special time of honoring and thanking the Lord didn't happen today, I encourage you—you've got three more days; don't give up!)
This year, we kept up with reading Of Plymouth Planation, and we love it more all the time. But we also read another classic Thanksgiving text, which I believe will become a new tradition for van Eck family Thanksgiving celebrations; read about it in this week's Article Spotlight!
But it's that week, and I know what you really want to hear about...!
In celebration of the wonderful blessings of our God, and how good it is to give thanks to Him for them, we're feasting at home, and offering a thoroughly-Christian-and-classical homeschool feast for our newsletter subscribers.
