Hello [Recipient First Name],

The Homeschool Grammar School Newsletter has been slow to send out news this year, but it's only because we're making so much progress in our own homeschool grammar school!

Truly, every day we see more good fruit of Bible-focused classical learning, especially as the children get older.  The further we get along this path, and I see the results in my own children of the old methods from the days of Isaac Watts and Noah Webster, the more thankful I am that such men left this legacy for us, and that the Lord has helped us to return to this old path.

But the biggest reason why Robyn has less time than usual is... we're expecting another baby!  Mama's back to naps in the afternoon, staying awake all night, and catching every bug that comes within sneezing distance of our little town.  Oh, but the difficulties are more than worth it!  We are so thankful; God is so good!!!!

Homeschool Grammar School Insight

But we did prepare a little homeschool grammar school goodness for you, as usual.  This insight has been a real encouragement to me and my family!

In our Article Spotlight, we consider the old-fashioned grammar school requirement for students to sit up straight.  Is that good?  Necessary?  Helpful, in today's culture?  Read Uprightness, and consider if teaching your children to have good posture is something you might want to implement, for more reason than one.

Homeschool Convention Season

If you've been around here for awhile, you know that we love homeschool conferences!

Daily, you and I go through the diligent work of homeschooling our children—as well as performing all of our other duties.  And this is the life God has ordained for us on this earth: doing our duty, cheerfully, in faith, looking forward to our eternal reward, day after day.

If you are like I am, you seek encouragement and fresh wisdom from the Lord daily, because the task can seem overwhelming when we lose sight of that eternal perspective.

But sometimes we get the opportunity for an extra burst of encouragement and inspiration—and that is what our family finds at homeschool conferences... the devotedly Christian ones, at least! :)

Grammar of Grace will be involved in several homeschool conferences this season.  Perhaps the Lord will use one of these to provide a little blessing for you and your homeschool!  And maybe we'll even get to meet you in person at one of them!

First, there will be an online Homeschool Summit in a few weeks, which everyone can go to.  The topic will be Relational Lifestyle, with a focus on building great relationships with our spouse and children in the midst of all of the work of homeschooling.  Speakers will include Kevin Swanson, Joel Beeke, Doug Wilson, and lots of others.  It's free to attend, but you can also purchase all of the conference talks so you can listen to them again and again—or just listen on your own schedule if you can't make it each day!  Register for free here.

Then, yes, Grammar of Grace will be returning to three in-person homeschool conventions this year.  We would so love to meet you in person at one of them!

  • April 18-20: Texas Homeschool Convention, Fort Worth, TX
  • May 16-18: Teach Them Diligently, Branson, MO
  • June 13-15: Rocky Mountain Homeschool Convention, Denver, CO

Until next time, may the Lord bless you with wisdom, faith, and love, to homeschool your children for His glory!

Grace & peace to you,

Robyn van Eck
